There are no specific regulations or limitations. No test result is required when entering the country. Foreigners with a known HIV infection are not subject to specific residence regulations.

HIV treatment information for Mauritania

There are no adequate treatment facilities in Mauritania. According to the Ministry of Health, such facilities are being developed. 

There are several NGOs working in the field of AIDS, but at the moment, they are either not active or still in the process of organization. The Mauritanian Ministry for Health and Social Affairs has a programme called "Lutte contre le Sida".

Global Criminalisation of HIV Transmission Scan

The Global Criminalisation Scan is an initiative of GNP+. It aims to collect and keep up to date information on national and state level laws criminalising the transmission of or exposure to HIV. It also aims to provide an easily accessible ‘clearing-house’ of resources, research, and initiatives on the subject and to provide a platform for advocacy initiatives.
